Jan W. Gilbert (born 2005, Reading, UK) is a freelance Director of Photography, Gaffer and Camera Operator currently based in Reading, UK.  

Jan began his film journey in education, studying film in A-levels all while practicing videography and photography alongside his studies. As his love of film grew he aspired for greater heights, going to University to study film all while taking on an internship at Ginger and Pickle Productions and KOPTIC Studios leading him to climb up the ranks of the camera department and becoming a camera operator on his first feature length project The Unexpected Return of Mr Meek. Jan continued to freelance as a camera operator on longer form productions while filling the role of Director of Photography on shorter projects, allowing him to hone his skills in the craft and land his first feature length project as a DP at the age of 20. Now Jan continues to work as a DP, camera operator and gaffer always looking towards improvement in his work and aiming for greater heights in his career.
